Senior Cloud Engineer

Fincons Group, a multinational IT consulting firm with four decades of experience helping leading enterprises navigate digital transformation, is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join its Lugano office. The position focuses on building and sustaining cloud‑native infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, emphasizing automation, security, and scalability. The day‑to‑day work involves managing GCP resources through Terraform, deploying and supporting workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine, and creating automation scripts using Python, Bash and Ansible. The engineer will also construct and maintain CI/CD pipelines, handle IAM, security policies, certificates and secrets, monitor system performance, resolve incidents and conduct root‑cause analyses, all while collaborating within Agile/Scrum teams and following Git‑based development practices. Candidates must bring at least five years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps or systems engineering, with deep knowledge of GCP services such as GKE, IAM, VPC and Compute Engine. Proven competence with Terraform, Git, Docker and Kubernetes, as well as strong Python and Bash scripting abilities, is required. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is also essential. Additional assets include familiarity with Jenkins, Ansible, Microsoft Azure, and monitoring tools like Splunk, Prometheus or Grafana, as well as background in banking or other regulated sectors. The role is not fully remote; applicants should be ready to relocate to Canton Ticino in Switzerland or nearby Italian border towns such as Como or Varese, with occasional work‑from‑home days possible according to the client’s policy.
