The Senior Platform Engineer - Identity & Security (m/f/d) 80-100% role is part of the Engineering and Integration team at Zurich Switzerland. The company focuses on integrating, securing, and revealing hidden aspects of their systems, particularly in the realm of Agentic AI, hybrid delivery, and Zero Trust. The team is dedicated to modernizing their identity platform using Keycloak, embedding Zero Trust and fine-grained authorization, and building the foundations for an AI-augmented enterprise. The main responsibilities of the Senior Platform Engineer include setting the technical direction for identity and security engineering, shaping the evolution and operations of the Enterprise Identity Platform, and developing the target picture for identity and security in the age of Agentic AI. This involves working with technologies like OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and PKCE, as well as steering the phase-out of legacy federation and extending security into event-driven and AI-augmented workflows. The role also includes setting engineering standards, reviews, and quality gates, and partnering with business domains to translate insurance requirements into robust identity and security outcomes. To qualify for this role, candidates must have at least 7 years of experience in software or security engineering, ideally in the insurance, banking, or related financial services industry. Deep expertise in modern authentication methods and hands-on experience with Keycloak are essential. Additionally, candidates should have a solid understanding of fine-grained authorization, Zero Trust, and cloud-native engineering, as well as experience with Agentic AI access management and security concepts. Nice-to-have skills include a strong sense of end-to-end ownership, business curiosity, and the ability to translate business intent into technical specifications. Strong communication skills that earn trust and bring senior engineers along are also valuable. The role is based in Oerlikon, Zurich, with a hybrid working arrangement of up to 40%. The team is agile, collaborative, and has a strong network across Business Unit Switzerland, combining deep technical expertise with a clear focus on delivery and outstanding service to stakeholders.
