Exponent, a global engineering and scientific consulting practice, is looking for a Regulatory Manager Plant Protection. The firm advises clients on technically complex products and processes, aiming to foster a safer, healthier and more sustainable world. With a network of hundreds of consultants and dozens of PhDs across many disciplines, the company offers a collaborative environment for experts from varied backgrounds. In this position you will steer and support teams that prepare regulatory dossiers for active substances and finished plant‑protection products destined for the European market. Daily tasks involve offering strategic counsel to both clients and internal colleagues, coordinating multidisciplinary project work, and nurturing relationships with regulators to secure repeat business and uphold the firm's reputation. You will also act as the primary contact for negotiations with EFSA, the European Commission and individual Member States, while helping to expand the client base for regulatory services. The role requires a solid academic foundation and hands‑on regulatory experience. Candidates must hold at least a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, agricultural science or a closely related discipline, and must have a demonstrable record of working on plant‑protection product registrations at the EU and member‑state level. Strong communication abilities are essential for translating intricate regulatory issues into clear advice, and interpersonal talent is needed to build effective partnerships with clients, colleagues and authorities. The position can be based in any of Exponent's UK offices (Harrogate, Nottingham, London), Dublin, Basel or Mannheim, with the option to work remotely. The firm promotes a flexible, agile work style that balances client engagements, site visits and personal commitments. Employees benefit from a supportive culture that values diversity, mentorship and continuous learning, as well as competitive benefits and recognition programmes. What the role asks for: - BSc or higher in chemistry, biology, agricultural science or related field - Proven experience in EU plant‑protection regulatory affairs - Demonstrated knowledge of plant protection products - Excellent ability to convey complex regulatory matters - Strong interpersonal skills for client and authority relations
