SwissJobs.app or Google Interview Warmup?

Updated:

In short

There is no longer a choice to make: Google Interview Warmup is gone. Opened from Switzerland on 16 September 2026, its address forwards to the European Grow with Google homepage, and the US and Swiss locale versions return "page not found". For practising an interview for a specific Swiss job, SwissJobs.app is the replacement: questions built from the advert and your CV, a spoken interview panel, and a score on every answer. If you only want to talk through questions for free, with no score, use ChatGPT voice mode.

Practise the interview out loud, and see how you scored

An AI panel asks the questions and you answer by voice, the way the real call goes. Afterwards you get a pass probability and the moments that cost you.

Warmup was a good tool, and plenty of "free interview practice" lists still point to it, so it is worth being precise about what it offered. According to Google's own launch post of 2 June 2022, you answered questions picked by industry experts, saw a live transcript, and got insights into patterns in your wording. It deliberately gave no grade. That is where it differs most from our practice interview, and the difference does not favour us for every reader.

  • Status: on 16.09.2026 Google Interview Warmup cannot be reached from Switzerland; the address redirects to the European Grow with Google homepage.
  • Warmup offered fixed question sets, a real-time transcript, and insights on job-related terms, most-used words and talking points, with no grade at all.
  • SwissJobs.app builds the questions from the job title, company size and panel, plus the advert and your CV if you add them, and asks them in an AI voice.
  • Every answer is scored 0 to 10, split into substance, structure and fit, and the session ends with a debrief of the whole round.
  • Free: one answerable question without an account; with a free account, five questions on sign-up day, then five a month. The subscription is CHF 15 a month or CHF 95 a year.
  • If you want practice without being judged, ChatGPT voice mode, Gemini Live or a friend will suit you better than a score after each answer.

Why SwissJobs.app instead of Google Interview Warmup

Warmup rehearsed general questions and refused to grade them. SwissJobs.app rehearses the interview for one particular job, with the people who will actually be in the room, and tells you after each answer where it holds up.

  • It still exists — Warmup no longer loads from Switzerland. Our practice interview runs in four languages on its own pages.

  • Questions about the job, not the field — Questions come from the job title and, if you add them, the advert and your CV, so they name real projects and real requirements.

  • A panel, not a form — You set up to five roles, say HR, the team lead and a specialist. The voice announces who is asking and follows up once when an answer stays vague.

  • A score with reasons — Each answer gets 0 to 10, broken into substance, structure and fit, plus two or three sentences of reasoning and a note on what a strong answer would have included.

  • Swiss register — Company size sets the tone: first names in a five-person firm, formal address and structured answers in a large company. Salary expectations, the Arbeitszeugnis and notice periods count as normal topics.

What happened to Google Interview Warmup

Google introduced Interview Warmup on its blog on 2 June 2022, as part of Grow with Google. It was built for people taking the Google Career Certificates, so it had a question set per certificate, plus general questions for any field. We requested the tool's address three ways on 16 September 2026: the main URL forwards Swiss visitors to the European Grow with Google homepage, and both the Swiss and the US locale paths return "page not found". Our interview tools comparison of 28 August had already seen the same redirect.

That matters in practice. Roundups of free interview trainers are rarely updated, and many still rank Warmup near the top. Follow one of those tips and you land on a course catalogue. So this page answers two questions: what Warmup did well, and where you can get that now.

What Warmup got right

The tool took a clear position. Google wrote that responses "aren't graded or judged", that you could answer as many times as you wanted, and that it was "your own private space to practice". For anyone who freezes before interviews, that is a genuine strength: repetition without a verdict comes first, a number later.

It also gave feedback a score cannot: which job-related terms you used, the words you said most often, and how your time split between experience, skills and goals. If every answer started with "basically", you saw it in print. Our practice interview does not count words. It explains each score in a few sentences, which is a different kind of feedback rather than a full replacement.

How the SwissJobs.app practice interview works

Only the job title is required. You pick a company size from four bands, from one to five employees up to more than two hundred, and decide who sits across the table: up to five roles you name yourself. The advert and your CV are optional but make the questions much sharper, and a CV saved in our other tools is already there to use.

Questions are written to be spoken: one ask at a time, around 25 words at most, never two questions joined with "and". The HR role asks about motivation, fit and pay; the specialist probes concrete scenarios from the advert; a role from another occupation asks how you would work across that boundary. The voice says who is asking, adds at most one short follow-up if you stay vague, and never coaches you mid-interview.

After each answer a language model reads the transcript and gives a score from 0 to 10, with sub-scores for substance, structure and fit, a short explanation and a sentence on what a strong answer would have contained. At the end the panel debriefs the whole round: strengths, concerns, a note from each role, and an estimate of how likely you are to pass this round. That figure grades answers against a rubric; it does not predict what an employer decides.

If you are interviewing in Switzerland from abroad

Warmup came out of a US programme, and a Swiss interview has habits a US question set does not cover. Small firms often switch to first names in the first meeting; large companies stay formal and expect structured, STAR-style answers. Our tool sets that register from the company size, and it treats salary expectations, the Arbeitszeugnis (the Swiss employer reference) and notice periods as ordinary interview topics.

Two points catch people relocating. Many Swiss employers pay a 13th monthly salary, so check whether a figure is monthly, annual, and with or without it before you name yours. And the language of the job decides the language of the interview: an advert in Lausanne means French, one in Lugano means Italian, even when your working language would be English. You can run the practice interview in any of the four.

When to use something else

If you want to practise aloud for free, start with ChatGPT voice mode. It is good, the basic version costs nothing, and most people try it first anyway. If you prefer to stay with Google, the Gemini app has a voice mode called Gemini Live. Both will ask you questions when you tell them to, but neither knows your panel or the Swiss register unless you describe it yourself.

If what you liked about Warmup was practising without being judged, a friend or an unscored voice chat will serve you better than a score after every answer. And before a decisive interview, a senior role for instance, a good interview coach offers something no software does: someone who knows the industry and watches how you come across in the room.

What it costs

Without an account you see two questions and answer one. A free account adds five questions on the day you sign up, then five a month. The subscription is CHF 15 a month or CHF 95 a year, covers every tool, and starts with a seven-day trial with full access.

The limit comparisons usually leave out: the subscription is capped too, at ten sessions and 40 questions a month, or 80 questions on the yearly plan. A session holds up to eight questions. If you plan several full rounds a day, you will hit that ceiling, and you should know it before you pay.

Google Interview Warmup details come from Google's launch post of 2 June 2022 and from our own requests to the tool's address on 16 September 2026 from Switzerland (main URL plus the Swiss and US locale versions); copies of both pages are kept. SwissJobs.app details were read the same day in the practice interview's code: question and scoring rules, quotas and prices. Google's post gives no price for Warmup, so we do not state one.
