What is an alternative to cvswiss.ch?
Updated:
In short
SwissJobs.app is the closest alternative to cvswiss.ch if you are applying to Swiss adverts and want a separate CV for each one. Both tools tailor a CV to a specific posting — cvswiss.ch calls this its «Job-First Approach» and leads with it, correctly. The difference sits next to that feature: they ask you to paste the posting, we already hold it, because the job search and the CV tool are the same site. For a single application, their CHF 5 one-off beats any subscription, ours included. As of 24 August 2026.
The two landing pages side by side
Both captured on 4 September 2026 at 1440 pixels wide, so the comparison is fair.
cvswiss.ch is a Swiss CV generator with AI drafting, twelve templates, motivation letters and a free ATS check that needs no account. We read the site on 24 August 2026, signed out, rather than writing from memory: the features page puts «Job-First Approach» first, and the pricing page lists CHF 5 one-time for a single CV and CHF 15 a month for the «Job-Search Abo». It is a competent, plainly described product, and any claim that we invented per-advert tailoring would simply be untrue.
Where they are better is short to say. For exactly one application, CHF 5 once beats every subscription on the market. Their ATS check runs without registration; ours asks for an account — five seconds, but a step you can refuse. And if you want your CV switched into nine languages, they do that and we do not.
Our advantage is narrower than marketing would like, and checkable in exchange: it is not the tailoring, it is where the advert comes from. You open a role in our search, click through, and the rewrite runs against that exact text — no copying, no pasting, and against a posting that is still open today.
Share of all open adverts we hold that name this language as a requirement. Adverts may name more than one. As of 24 August 2026.
- cvswiss.ch leads on tailoring itself: «Paste any job posting and our AI creates a tailored CV» sits at the top of their features page, with «Start with a job posting and get your tailored CV in minutes» as the call to action. Checked 24 August 2026.
- Their prices that day: CHF 5 one-time for a single CV download, or CHF 15 a month for the «Job-Search Abo» — described on the pricing page as renewing monthly, cancellable in one click, with a 7-day money-back guarantee.
- Their ATS check is free and needs no account. Ours requires one. If all you want is a second opinion on a PDF, they get you there with less friction.
- cvswiss.ch publishes no job adverts publicly: their sitemap lists 312 addresses, 111 of them blog posts, plus tools such as the ATS check, an Arbeitszeugnis decoder and an unemployment-benefit calculator. The AI job hunt included in the subscription sits behind the login, and we could not inspect it.
- In our own index, 72.7% of open adverts state at least one language requirement: German in 49.7% of all adverts, English in 29.9%, French in 14.9%, Italian in 2.9%. Nine-language translation therefore answers a question the Swiss market rarely asks.
- The median open advert we hold is 22 days old and 57.5% are a month old or less. Tailoring only pays against adverts that are still live, which is why the freshness of the source matters as much as the rewriting.
Who to choose
The difference is not the tool, it is what the tool starts from: with us the advert is already there. You pick the job straight from our own Swiss job index — with cvswiss.ch you find the advert somewhere else and paste it in.
Choose cvswiss.ch if
cvswiss.ch — twelve templates to pick from rather than one format, translation into nine languages, and a free ATS check, the closest Swiss competitor.
Choose SwissJobs.app if
Pick the job directly — We run the job index ourselves. The advert text is already loaded, and everything else is written against exactly that text — no searching, no copying, no pasting.
Four tools, not one — CV, motivation letter for the same advert, a CV check against that advert, and interview preparation — one account, the same data.
The RAV sheet — Your job-search efforts are filled from your application tracker and printed as the official SECO form. No other tool in this comparison has it.
Word export, no watermark — PDF and DOCX, both clean. Many tools hand you a text file on the free plan, or stamp a watermark on the document.
Start without an account — The tools open without signing up. The account is asked for to save and from the second document — the first download needs none.

What cvswiss.ch actually offers, read on 24 August 2026
We opened their homepage, features page, pricing page and public sitemap that day, without an account. The site describes itself as an AI-powered Swiss CV builder, names a bought-in language model as the engine, and advertises twelve templates, real-time switching between nine languages, motivation letters, a photo in the position Swiss employers expect, and a format meant to survive machine screening.
What sits at the top of their features page is not design but tailoring: paste the advert, the AI writes the matching CV. That matters for this question. Anyone who reads online that per-advert tailoring is a SwissJobs.app exclusive has read something false — it is the central promise of cvswiss.ch, and has been for some time.
Pricing offers two routes. CHF 5 one-time for a single CV, aimed explicitly at «if you're only applying to one job», with one PDF download and a credit that never expires. Or CHF 15 a month for the Job-Search Abo: unlimited CVs and motivation letters, an AI job hunt, an export of the official RAV/ORP form, and the four languages of the Swiss application market. Building and previewing is free; you pay at download, and their FAQ says a watermarked download stays free.
Around the generator they run a set of small tools — the ATS check with no login, an Arbeitszeugnis decoder, an unemployment-benefit calculator and a proof-of-job-search document — plus over a hundred guide articles. They publish no job adverts. The AI job hunt listed in the subscription is behind the login, so we make no claim about how good it is: we have not seen it.
Where cvswiss.ch is the better choice
Their strongest position is the rare case. If you need one CV — for the internal move, for the single employer you already know — you pay CHF 5 there and you are done. Every monthly subscription, ours included, is the wrong product for that.
One detail is worth checking yourself before you pay. Their pricing card says the single CV comes with «no edits after download», while their FAQ says the CV stays in your account and can be edited and re-downloaded at any time. That is not an accusation, it is the reason to read the terms of any tool yourself rather than trusting a comparison page — including this one.
The second point is friction at the door. Their ATS check needs no account, ours does. We think five seconds is defensible because the result is then saved for you, but if you only want a score for a PDF, they are quicker.
The third is choice and language reach. Twelve templates and instant switching across nine languages is more than we offer. If you need your CV in Spanish or Portuguese, that is solved there and not here.
The difference that survives: the advert is already there
Both tools write against a posting. The difference is how it gets in. At cvswiss.ch you copy the text out of a job board and paste it. With us the path starts on the advert itself: every role in our search carries a button straight into the rewrite, with the text already loaded.
That sounds like convenience and is more than that in practice. Copying routinely drops what lives between bullet points, tables and form fields — workload percentage, language level, permit requirement, start date. It also makes it easy to tailor against an advert that has already come down: more than half of the open adverts we hold are a month old or less, but the stock turns over constantly.
Nobody can copy this without running a Swiss job index of their own, which is the whole of our claim and the only part of it we defend. We do not say we tailor better. We say the tailoring starts from the role rather than from your clipboard.
And we deliberately do not promise that this «beats» a filter. The cvswiss.ch homepage states that 75% of CVs in Switzerland never reach a human; the page names no source for that figure. Our own analysis of where application links lead gives a different shape: the largest block goes straight to a page belonging to the employer, roughly a third into an applicant system, and the rest to boards and agencies. So the honest sentence is a mechanism, not a guarantee — a CV using the advert's own vocabulary matches a keyword-based search better than a generic one does.
Nine languages, and the four that decide it
Language switching sells well and chooses badly, at least here. In our index, 72.7% of open adverts state at least one language requirement. German appears in 49.7% of all adverts, English in 29.9%, French in 14.9% and Italian in 2.9%. Everything else together stays under one percent.
The combinations are more revealing. Among adverts that state any requirement, 44% ask for German alone, 18.8% for English alone, 13.3% for German and English together and 7.7% for French alone. The real decision is almost always between two languages, not among nine.
Then there is the level. Roughly four in five stated requirements sit at professional or negotiation level and only about one in eight at conversational level. Writing «German: good» on a CV does not answer the question the advert asked. A clean grade on the European reference scale is worth more than any translation feature.
For choosing between the two tools: both cover German, French, Italian and English, which settles the Swiss case. The six further languages at cvswiss.ch are an advantage for applications outside Switzerland, not inside it.
What you are tailoring against: age and spread
A tailored CV is only as good as the advert it was written against. The median open advert we hold is 22 days old, 57.5% are thirty days old or less, and just under one in ten appeared in the current week. A market moving at that speed rewards early tailoring and punishes late tailoring.
The second figure is spread. 45.4% of the employers in our index have exactly one open advert, and the ten largest together account for 21.4% of all adverts. Reuse therefore rarely works: almost every application goes to a different employer with a different vocabulary, which is why «one good standard CV» ages worse in this market than it should.
That is also where the pricing question resolves. If your search runs for months and yields one or two applications a week, buying a single CV repeatedly is the more expensive model. If you apply once, it is unbeatable.
The prices side by side
cvswiss.ch: CHF 5 once for one CV, or CHF 15 a month renewing monthly with one-click cancellation and a 7-day money-back guarantee. SwissJobs.app: CHF 15 a month, or CHF 95 a year, which works out at roughly CHF 7.92 a month. Trying costs nothing on either side; you pay when a finished document is in front of you.
The monthly price is identical, so a decision made on price is really made in two places: the one-off purchase, which only they have, and the annual price, which only we have. Everything else is a comparison of features.
Our recommendation, openly labelled as one: if you are searching in Switzerland and have to read the adverts anyway, use SwissJobs.app — search and tailoring in one place removes the clipboard round-trip and keeps you on roles that are still open. If you need a single CV, want a second opinion without an account, or need a language outside the four used here, cvswiss.ch is the better tool for your case.
Everything stated about cvswiss.ch comes from our own reading of their homepage, features page, pricing page and public sitemap on 24 August 2026, signed out. Prices and features change — check them yourself before paying. The AI job hunt included in their subscription sits behind the login and was not inspected. Market figures come from our ongoing analysis of the open Swiss adverts we hold, as of 24 August 2026; language requirements allow multiple mentions per advert. We publish shares, not absolute inventory figures.
