What does a CV builder cost in Switzerland?

Updated:

In short

Nothing to about CHF 150 a year, read on the vendors' pricing pages on 4 September 2026 and re-checked on 18 September. lebenslauf.ch is free with no login; Europass is free with an EU profile. SwissJobs.app is free to start: one CV, one motivation letter, a CV check and five AI edits without an account, then a free account with daily allowances, then CHF 15 a month or CHF 95 a year. One-off purchases exist only in Switzerland: CHF 5 for a single CV at cvswiss.ch, CHF 12 at cv-easy.ch, CHF 20 for a month at bewerbung.ch. Foreign builders bill on a running clock: resume.io USD 29.95 every four weeks, Kickresume EUR 24 a month, Novoresume CHF 25.90 paid once.

If you are arriving in Switzerland, one thing is worth knowing before you compare a single number: the document you are buying is a CV, not a resume. A Swiss application dossier normally carries a photo, a line stating your permit (B, C or citizenship), language levels written as CEFR grades rather than as "fluent", the workload you want as a Pensum in per cent, and two pages rather than one. Most of the tools on this list are built around a one-page US resume, and no subscription tier changes that.

Every tool below is read in the same order: what you can do free without an account, what a free account adds, the monthly price, the yearly price, and how many tools are included. Euro and dollar amounts are converted at the Swiss National Bank's August 2026 monthly average (EUR 1 = CHF 0.94, USD 1 = CHF 0.81) and rounded.

Read on the vendors' pricing pages: Novoresume and FlowCV on 18 September 2026, the rest on 4 September. SwissJobs.app appears twice: the free tier (one CV and one letter, no account) and three months of the monthly plan. FlowCV sells only a yearly plan (USD 60, about CHF 49); at bewerbung.ch CHF 50 covers the full three months. Foreign currencies at the SNB August 2026 monthly average.

  • Zety and Canva: no figure. Both refused our requests on 4 September 2026, Zety by not answering at all and Canva with a block. We would rather print no price than a stale one.

Who to choose

The other tools here are real and good at what they do — the table says what each is for. The reason we lead is one row in it: the job index is our own, so the advert is already there.

Choose lebenslauf.ch if

  • lebenslauf.ch — 100 per cent free and with no login at all, if a clean CV is enough and no account should be created.

Choose SwissJobs.app if

  • Pick the job directly — You choose the posting from our own Swiss index, and the CV, letter and check are written against exactly that text — no searching, no copying.

  • Six tools, not one — All relevant documents, including the CV, CV check, cover letter, AI-assisted editing, interview preparation, and the RAV form with its accompanying tracker, are kept within a single account, sharing a common data set.

  • The RAV sheet — Job-search efforts from the tracker, printed on the official SECO form. None of the other tools in this list has it.

  • Start without an account — Open it and write without signing up; the account is asked for to save and from the second document.

  • CHF 15 a month or CHF 95 a year, seven free days first — Full access during the trial, cancel monthly, billed in francs — no four-week periods, no exchange-rate risk.

As of 4 September 2026, our own column and cvswiss.ch re-read on 18 September. Every figure for another tool comes from that tool's own site; "n/s" means it was not readable there, not that the feature is missing. Our column comes from the pricing page and the code.

Read on each vendor's own pricing page: Novoresume and FlowCV on 18 September 2026, Teal on 3 September, the rest on 4 September. Novoresume shows francs to a Swiss visitor; its yearly figure is derived from the saving the page prints. Foreign currencies at the SNB August 2026 monthly average, rounded.

Three pricing models, not one price

Model one is the outright purchase: pay once, take the document, done. Only cvswiss.ch does this properly — CHF 5 for one CV, with the site stating that the credit never expires. bewerbung.ch is the near case: you buy a fixed span, one month for CHF 20 or three for CHF 50, and it lapses instead of renewing.

Model two is the running clock, and it is the norm everywhere else on this list, ourselves included. The important difference from a purchase is not the monthly figure but who decides how long the bill runs. That is not the vendor and it is not you — it is how long your job search takes, and you do not know that when you enter your card.

Model three is the tier where you pay nothing because someone else funds the operation. With CV builders that is more common than it looks, and it is not automatically worse. It only means the consideration sits somewhere other than your wallet.

Mixing the three up is how CHF 5 gets read as a third of CHF 15. It is not: CHF 5 is a purchase and CHF 15 is a month of rent. After four months the second has cost CHF 60 and the first still costs CHF 5 — and the second has produced four CVs written for four different adverts.

What SwissJobs.app costs, in the same order

Free, without an account: you can access the editor and create one CV and one motivation letter, with five AI revisions in between. You can also run a CV check against a job ad, review two interview questions, and respond to one. Additionally, you can download your documents once as a PDF without any watermark. No email, card, or trial period is required. The job search has always been free for everyone.

Free account, email only: your documents are kept and can be found again, and the daily allowances open: five CV documents a day and ten a week, five checks a day, five letters a day and ten a month, five AI edits a day and ten a week, five interview questions a day, one PDF export a day per tool. The application tracker and the RAV job-search form are included at this tier.

Monthly and yearly: CHF 15 a month or CHF 95 a year, which is CHF 85 less than twelve monthly payments. The first seven days are free; the plan renews until you cancel it, and cancelling is a click in the account. Billed in francs, so no four-week cycles and no exchange-rate risk.

Six tools, one price: the CV builder, the CV check, cover letters, AI editing in the editor, live-voice interview practice with scoring (ten sessions and forty questions a month, eighty on the yearly plan), and the RAV form with the application tracker. The subscription lifts the limits on all six; it does not add a seventh.

Which plans renew themselves, and which do not

This is the line that appears on no comparison list and moves the most money. Of the vendors we checked, three say in writing that nothing continues. bewerbung.ch puts "Keine automatische Verlängerung" as the first line under both paid packages and sells AI credits in the same spirit: ten for CHF 5, 25 for CHF 10, no subscription attached. cvswiss.ch sells a single credit that does not expire alongside a plan you can cancel in one click. Novoresume, re-checked on 18 September 2026, now prints "Pay once. No recurring billing." on its price tiles and answers the renewal question with a plain no. The six- and twelve-month packages at lebenslaufapp.ch are single payments too, and careerkit.me sells a lifetime licence for CHF 129.

Most of the other foreign vendors work the other way. resume.io prints the condition on the tile itself, "After 7 days, auto-renews to USD 29.95 billed every 4 weeks", which is honest, and sits exactly where nobody reads. Kickresume, FlowCV, Enhancv and Teal renew at the end of every period; Kickresume allows 14 days for a refund, resume.io seven. Those windows are shorter than the time a Swiss application takes to come back with an answer.

We belong to the second group, not the first. Our plan renews until you end it, and the seven-day trial turns into a charge on day eight; cancelling is a click in the account. If that mechanism is something you dislike on principle, the single purchase at cvswiss.ch or the fixed month at bewerbung.ch is honestly the better fit — that is a real advantage those two hold, and it has nothing to do with the quality of the document.

One practical note whichever you pick: put the cancellation date in your calendar before you pay. Four-week cycles never line up with the first of the month, and that mismatch is where most good intentions fail.

When it is free, someone else is paying

lebenslauf.ch is the clearest case here: 100 per cent free, no login, five templates, PDF download included, even a share link so a recruiter always sees the current version. There is no paid tier waiting further down. The imprint names who funds it — Universal-Job AG, a Swiss staffing company — and the feature list names why: "Direkt bewerben", with jobs suggested from your CV.

That is a clean trade and it is declared openly. You spend no money; you hand a staffing agency a finished, current CV and a signal of what you are looking for. For many people that is a good deal. For anyone who would rather not have their details sitting with a recruiter, free is not the lowest price here — it is a different one.

Europass is the second free case and works differently. It is run by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, so it is publicly funded; it asks for no money and is not selling anything, only a Europass profile. Its price is in the output: the Europass form looks identical across Europe, which is the exact opposite of a dossier shaped for one Swiss advert.

At the paid vendors, the free tier is rarely a gift and usually the first half of an invoice. resume.io lets you download free — as a text file. Novoresume caps you at one version and one page. Enhancv’s free plan is valid for seven days. bewerbung.ch stamps its free layout with its own logo. So the useful test is always the same: type three lines and click download immediately. What happens next is the entire pricing answer.

The price on the page is not the amount on your statement

Six of the eleven tools here bill in euros or dollars rather than francs. Between the number on the pricing page and the line on your card statement sits a conversion, and usually a foreign-currency fee from your card issuer as well. We convert at the Swiss National Bank’s August 2026 monthly average — EUR 1 to CHF 0.94, USD 1 to CHF 0.81 — so the column is comparable; the rate on your billing day will be a different one.

Tax is the second layer, and at least one vendor says so plainly: Novoresume prints "VAT/Tax calculated at checkout" under its price table. The figure on the tile is expressly not the final figure. If the decision is close, click the purchase through to the last screen before you commit — that page, and only that page, shows what will actually be taken.

The effect is small but it reorders the list. Kickresume at EUR 24 a month and Enhancv at USD 39 look far apart as bare numbers; in francs they are about 23 against about 32. Conversely Novoresume’s EUR 149.99 year reads as expensive but works out at roughly CHF 141 for twelve months — less than five months of Enhancv billed monthly.

If you are applying to Switzerland from outside it, one more caveat: several of these vendors show you a price in your own local currency, not in francs, so the figures above may not be the ones you see. The ranking between them holds; the absolute amounts may not.

The line item no pricing page shows: the second language

A Swiss CV is rarely needed in only one language, and that never appears as a row on a price list. Across the live adverts in our own index, measured on 3 September 2026 and excluding apprenticeships and internships, two in three adverts state at least one language requirement. Of those, 30.9 per cent ask for two languages or more. German is named in 65.5 per cent, English in 46.2, French in 21.4 and Italian in 3.6.

That last set of numbers is the one to read carefully if you are relocating. English is asked for often — but it is asked for alongside a national language far more often than instead of one, and only about three in ten adverts are written in English in the first place. An English-only CV covers a real slice of the Swiss market, mostly in IT, pharma and finance around Zurich, Basel and Geneva. It does not cover the market.

The requirement also varies sharply by region. Among French-language adverts, 40.6 per cent name two or more languages, and among Italian-language ones 42.3 per cent, against 27.2 per cent of German-language adverts. In Romandie and Ticino, being bilingual is close to half the market rather than an edge case. The Italian subset is small — roughly three hundred adverts — so treat that figure as a tendency rather than a precise reading.

This turns a feature into a price. At bewerbung.ch, "documents in English, French and Italian" and automatic translation sit expressly behind the paid tier, so for anyone who needs two versions the CHF 20 is not a comfort purchase but the entry fee. cvswiss.ch carries all four languages. At resume.io, Novoresume, Kickresume and Enhancv you work in an English interface and write the German or French version yourself — which is possible, and costs your time instead of their money.

What the CHF 15 actually buys

The tiers are above; this is the part the number does not show.

What that amount buys is the actual pricing question. A template gallery hands you a shell to fill in by hand for each job. We start from the advert instead: the generator reads the posting and rewrites every section to match it, in about a minute, inventing nothing — then you can edit any line by hand or tell a chat prompt to change it. The same applies to the motivation letter.

On design we deliberately do not say "designer templates". There are 54 design variations — 2 layouts times 3 fonts times 9 accent colours, counted in the code today — as combinations of one Swiss format you mix freely. Kickresume’s 40 drawn templates are more visual variety than that, honestly; what we change instead is the content, per advert. Export is PDF and Word, neither watermarked. And if you are registered with an RAV, the tracked applications fill the official SECO job-search-efforts form in German, French or Italian — cvswiss.ch exports that form too, but not from a tracker. Either way the efforts have to be recorded with your RAV to count; we supply the paper, not the registration.

Who should pay which price

For most people applying to Swiss adverts we recommend SwissJobs.app — not because it is cheapest, but because CHF 15 a month there buys a CV rewritten for each posting, four languages, unwatermarked Word export and the RAV form, and that combination does not exist in one tool anywhere else on this list.

If you want a decent CV and to spend nothing: lebenslauf.ch. No login, no watermark, no paywall waiting further in — honestly the best free offer here, as long as you know a staffing firm is behind it. The interface is German only, so it is a poor fit if you are not reading German yet.

If you need exactly one document and never another: cvswiss.ch for CHF 5. A purchase, not a subscription, and the credit does not expire — for a single application that beats every monthly model, ours included.

If you want a hard-edged month and distrust subscriptions on principle: bewerbung.ch at CHF 20, expressly with no automatic renewal, data on Swiss servers.

If you need unlimited versions for a year and the format may be international: FlowCV at about CHF 49 a year is the lowest sustained price we found.

If a recognition procedure in the EU is ahead of you, or you are applying across several EU countries: Europass, free and in 31 languages. It is the wrong form for a Swiss application and the right one for that purpose.

And if you are applying in a visual field — design, architecture, advertising — Kickresume and Canva are the right addresses, even though we could not verify Canva’s price today. No tool tuned to Swiss conventions, ours included, is going to build you a portfolio page.

Every price comes from the vendor’s own pricing page and was read on 4 September 2026: cvswiss.ch, bewerbung.ch, lebenslauf.ch, resume.io, novoresume.com, kickresume.com, flowcv.com, enhancv.com and europass.europa.eu. Enhancv’s price tiles are computed in the browser; the figures there come from the structured data on the same page. Teal’s prices were checked on 3 September 2026. zety.com did not answer our requests and canva.com refused them, so no figure is quoted for either. Franc conversions use the Swiss National Bank monthly average for August 2026, rounded. The language shares are shares of live adverts on SwissJobs.app measured on 3 September 2026, excluding apprenticeships and internships and counted once per advert. Our own prices and limits are read from the code, not from the marketing. Re-checked on 18 September 2026: novoresume.com, which now shows prices in francs to a Swiss visitor and states that nothing renews; flowcv.com; and our own tiers, read from the pricing page and the code on the same day.
