What is an alternative to Huntr?
Updated:
In short
Seven alternatives, each read on the vendor's own pages on 28 August 2026: the application list on SwissJobs.app, Teal, Simplify, LinkedIn's Job tracker, Airtable, a spreadsheet in Excel or Google Sheets, and the Job-Room eServices run by Swiss unemployment insurance. If you are applying to Swiss adverts, ours is the one to take — free with an account, and the row is created when you save the advert rather than when you retype it. Huntr genuinely beats us in one place: it has contact tracking, interview tracking and search metrics, and we have none of those. Updated 28 August 2026.
Huntr stopped being a tracker some time ago. Its own pricing page calls the product «like having 9 apps in one»: a kanban board for applications, a Chrome Job Clipper, autofill for application forms, contact and interview tracking, plus an AI resume builder that lifts keywords out of the posting and writes cover letters. That scope is exactly why people go looking for an alternative — Pro is USD 40 a month, and the vendor states plainly that there is no free trial of it.
There is a second reason specific to a Swiss search, and it lands on the feature you are paying for. A clipper and an autofill earn their money where the extension recognises the form. Application destinations here are unusually fragmented: across the adverts open on our site, the ten most common destinations account for 30 per cent between them and the fifty most common for just under half. The rest scatters across a long tail of mostly Swiss recruiting platforms, nearly half of which carry exactly one advert. Automating the capture step simply catches less here than it does in a market dominated by five big applicant systems.
Share of open adverts on SwissJobs.app by how common the application destination is, 28 August 2026. Autofill pays off where few destinations carry many applications.
- Huntr: free up to 100 tracked jobs, with the clipper and autofill; Pro is USD 40 a month, USD 90 for three months, USD 160 for six — roughly CHF 32, CHF 73 and CHF 129.
- SwissJobs.app: included in a free account, with no ceiling on the number of applications.
- Teal: tracking is free and unlimited; Teal+ is USD 13 every seven days, USD 29 every thirty, USD 79 every ninety — roughly CHF 10.50, CHF 23.50 and CHF 64.
- Simplify: tracker and autofill described by the vendor as free forever; no price published for Simplify+.
- LinkedIn Job tracker: free on an ordinary account, five stages, notes.
- Airtable: free plan for individuals; Team is USD 20 per person per month billed annually, roughly CHF 16.
- Excel and Google Sheets: free in the browser; Microsoft 365 Single is CHF 99.95 a year, Family CHF 139.95.
- Job-Room: the official channel, free of charge — unavoidable if you are registered with an RAV. It needs a Swiss registration you cannot complete from abroad.
Who to choose
With Huntr it ends at the advert. With us it starts there: the same posting produces the CV, the motivation letter, the check against it, and the entry in your RAV record.
Choose Huntr if
Huntr — a kanban board, a browser extension that saves from any site, reminders, statistics on your own funnel. As pure trackers they are further along than we are.
Choose SwissJobs.app if
Pick the job directly — We run the job index ourselves. The advert text is already loaded, and everything else is written against exactly that text — no searching, no copying, no pasting.
Four tools, not one — CV, motivation letter for the same advert, a CV check against that advert, and interview preparation — one account, the same data.
The RAV sheet — Your job-search efforts are filled from your application tracker and printed as the official SECO form. No other tool in this comparison has it.
Word export, no watermark — PDF and DOCX, both clean. Many tools hand you a text file on the free plan, or stamp a watermark on the document.
Start without an account — The tools open without signing up. The account is asked for to save and from the second document — the first download needs none.

Huntr
What it is: the most built-out product in this list. Job tracker with a board view, contact tracker, interview tracker, job-search metrics, a map view for the commute, the Chrome Job Clipper, application autofill, and a resume tool with keyword matching, scoring and AI cover letters.
Price: the free plan tracks up to 100 jobs and includes the clipper, unlimited contact management, unlimited application autofills, up to 100 document uploads, unlimited base resumes with free PDF export and two job-tailored resumes. Pro is USD 40 a month, USD 90 for three months or USD 160 for six — at the Swiss National Bank monthly average, roughly CHF 32, CHF 73 and CHF 129, or CHF 32, CHF 24 and CHF 21.50 per month. The vendor states there is no free trial of Pro, and that cancelling costs you no data.
Who it suits: people running many processes at once over months who want to read their own funnel. Nothing else here holds several contacts and several interview rounds per employer as well. The limit: it is built around the American application, in English, priced in dollars. A Pensum in per cent, an Arbeitszeugnis (the Swiss employer reference), the residence-permit line and CEFR language levels have no field in it — and nothing in it corresponds to the Swiss record of job-search efforts.
SwissJobs.app — the application list
What it is: a board with four columns — saved, applied, interview, offer — living in the same account as the job search. That is why entries are not typed: a saved advert is already in the list with employer, role, link and date attached. Each card shows how long it has sat untouched, interview cards carry the date and time, and each stage carries a count you can read the conversion off.
Price: included in a free account. Nothing closes at a hundred jobs and nothing expires after fourteen days.
Who it suits: anyone searching Swiss adverts who wants the retyping gone. Because the adverts are already here, capture is solved without an extension having to read somebody else's page — and that matters more in Switzerland than the same claim would elsewhere. The limit, and it is real: no contact management, no autofill, no browser extension. An application you found on another platform is added by hand. If you need months of metrics and several interview rounds per employer, Huntr does that and we do not.
Teal
What it is: Huntr's nearest relative with the pricing logic inverted. Tracking jobs is free and unlimited; the resume editor is what you pay for. The vendor cites over four million users.
Price: Free Forever covers unlimited tracking, unlimited resumes, ten templates, matching on the top five keywords and a thin AI allowance — ten credits for bullet points, two for a summary, two for a cover letter. Teal+ is USD 13 every seven days, USD 29 every thirty or USD 79 every ninety, roughly CHF 10.50, CHF 23.50 and CHF 64. Leave the weekly plan running for six months and you pay several times the ninety-day rate.
Who it suits: anyone who only wants the overview and refuses to pay for a tracker — on that specific point Teal is the better free offer, because Huntr stops at a hundred jobs. The limit: no German, French or Italian, and the keyword matching works best against English postings. Two adverts in ten here are in English; four in ten are in German.
Simplify
What it is: primarily a browser extension that fills in application forms, with a tracker and job matches attached. The vendor writes that the base version including «unlimited job tracking and autofill» is and will be free forever, and that it earns its money from employers posting roles.
Price: free. There is a paid tier called Simplify+, for which the site publishes no price — you see it once you have an account.
Who it suits: high-volume applicants aiming at internationally structured employers, which in Switzerland means pharma, tech and the large groups headquartered in Zurich, Basel or Zug. If you are applying into Switzerland from abroad and mostly targeting multinationals, this is the most useful of the imported tools. The limit: what the extension does not recognise never reaches the list, and a price you cannot see before signing up is a poor basis for a comparison.
LinkedIn Job tracker
What it is: the candidate most people overlook because they already have it. LinkedIn's Job tracker moves a role through five stages — saved, in progress, applied, interview and archive — takes notes, filters by date posted and shows which of your connections could introduce you.
Price: free on an ordinary account, no Premium needed.
Who it suits: anyone whose search already runs through LinkedIn, and anyone at the start of a search of unknown length. The limit, and it weighs more in Switzerland than in the United States: only Easy Apply applications advance by themselves. For jobs where you are redirected to the employer's own site you must save the job first, then move it manually — and that is where the majority of Swiss applications go. Entries also drop out of the tracker after a year.
Airtable
What it is: not application software but a database with a spreadsheet face. You define the fields yourself, which is the whole argument here: a column for Pensum in per cent, one for the language the advert is written in, one for the contact person and phone number, one for how you applied. No off-the-shelf American tracker ships with those.
Price: the vendor describes the free plan as formulated for individual users, very small teams or lightweight needs. Team is USD 20 per person per month billed annually, roughly CHF 16; Business is USD 45, roughly CHF 36. On the free plan the vendor states that if you hit the record limit you keep all your data but cannot add more until you upgrade.
Who it suits: people who want a spreadsheet with more structure — views per canton, a form for the phone, reminders. The limit: it is an empty tool. It knows no advert, fills in nothing, and reminds you of nothing you did not set up yourself. The half hour of building comes before the first application.
Excel and Google Sheets
What it is: the answer Huntr writes against on its own homepage — «No more messy spreadsheets». It earns its place anyway, because it does three things nothing else in this list does together: it calculates, it prints, and it belongs to you.
Price: both are free in the browser. Microsoft 365 Single is CHF 99.95 a year or CHF 9.95 a month, Family CHF 139.95 a year or CHF 13.95 a month.
Who it suits: anyone who has to print the list, keep it, or show it in an advisory appointment — and anyone who does not want a cancelled subscription to take their overview with it. The limit is transcription: employer, role, link and date are typed for every application, and the file is exactly as current as you are disciplined. Three weeks in, that is where most lists stop.
Job-Room — the official Swiss channel
What it is: the official platform run by arbeit.swiss. Jobseekers get eServices for job-search efforts, incapacity to work and jobseeking documents, plus job alerts and watchlists. Using them takes two steps: sign on with the regional employment centre (RAV) through the eService for that, then register for a Job Room account.
Price: free, because it is part of unemployment insurance.
Who it suits: anyone registered with an RAV — and there it is not an alternative at all, it is the channel. arbeit.swiss puts it on its homepage: «Private online services can support job searches and applications. However, information and documents subject to deadlines must be submitted via the eServices on Job-Room or through a channel designated by the regional employment centre or the unemployment insurance fund.» Neither Huntr nor we nor anything else here replaces that. The limit for readers arriving from outside Switzerland: it presupposes a Swiss registration you cannot complete before you are here, so for a search run from abroad it is simply not yet available.
Which one to pick
Applying to Swiss adverts and mainly want the retyping gone: our application list, free. Registered with an RAV: Job-Room, in addition and never instead — deadline-bound documents belong there and no private tool changes that.
Want unlimited free tracking and work in English anyway: Teal. Running a long, large search with many contacts and interview rounds, and CHF 21.50 to CHF 32 a month is worth it to you: stay on Huntr, which does that better than we do. Applying heavily into multinationals: Simplify, for the autofill. Search already on LinkedIn: the tracker you already have. Want your own fields for Pensum, language and contact person: Airtable, or simply a spreadsheet.
One point applies to every imported tool, and it is why this question resolves differently in Switzerland than in the US or the UK. A Swiss dossier carries things none of these trackers models. Just over seven adverts in ten here state the languages they require, usually as CEFR levels rather than «fluent»; just over two in ten state a Pensum, the workload written as a percentage rather than full-time or part-time; and applicants without a Swiss passport are expected to state their permit. It is a CV, not a resume, and no kanban view fixes the difference.
Every tool named here was read on its own pages on 28 August 2026: huntr.co (homepage and pricing), tealhq.com, simplify.jobs, airtable.com, LinkedIn's help pages on the Job tracker and Microsoft's Swiss pricing page. Dollar prices are converted at the Swiss National Bank monthly average and rounded, so those franc figures drift with the exchange rate while prices quoted in francs stay put. The record and the procedure come from Art. 26 AVIV and the arbeit.swiss pages; how many applications a control period requires is agreed individually — check it with your own RAV. Shares for destinations, languages and Pensum are computed over the adverts currently open on SwissJobs.app on 28 August 2026; the destination is inferred from the shape of the address rather than checked vendor by vendor. Only shares are published, never absolute figures. What our own list does and does not do was checked in the product on the same day.
