Which tool builds the CV and the motivation letter for the same advert?
Updated:
In short
Two tools write both documents from the same Swiss advert: SwissJobs.app and cvswiss.ch. Bewerbung.ch produces a CV and a letter too, but never sees the advert; Zety and Kickresume connect the two documents by design only — matching template, matching header — not by content. For applications to Swiss adverts we would pick SwissJobs.app: the letter is written from your CV and the advert text, and both travel from the CV into the letter on their own, for 83.3 per cent of our open adverts without you pasting anything. The honest objection: cvswiss.ch makes the same promise, translates into nine languages, and sells a single CV for CHF 5, which we do not. Checked 4 September 2026.
The tools’ landing pages compared
All captured on 4 September 2026 at the same window width, so the comparison is fair.

1. SwissJobs.appOur app
Add your current CV and a Swiss advert, AI writes one tailored to it. Free to start, no signup.
The question is narrower than it first sounds, and that is where the tools separate. Almost every application tool can produce both documents in 2026. Adding "for the same advert" sorts the field into three groups: tools that read the advert text and write both documents from it; tools that write both documents but never get to see the advert; and tools that bind the two together visually and leave the content to you.
That the two belong together is not a matter of taste in Switzerland. The application tips published by arbeit.swiss (SECO) describe the Bewerbungsdossier — the application file — as one unit, and the first two elements it lists are the "cover letter/motivation letter" and the CV, read on 4 September 2026. A tool that knows only one half leaves the other half with you, and with it the work of pointing both at the same posting.
- SwissJobs.app — Cost, checked 4 September 2026: a free account writes at no charge, five CVs a day and ten per rolling week, five letters a day and ten per rolling month; then a seven-day trial, then CHF 15 a month or CHF 95 a year, cancel any time · Both documents: yes, in the same editor · What feeds the letter: your finished CV plus the advert text · Where the advert comes from: our own listings, with the full text for 83.3 per cent of open adverts and with the job title and employer for the rest · Files: PDF and Word, no watermark on either · Interface: German, French, Italian and English, each with its own pages.
- cvswiss.ch — Price on 4 September 2026: drafting and preview free, you pay at download; a single CV is CHF 5 one-off and carries "No edits after download", the Job-Search Abo is CHF 15 a month with "Unlimited CVs" and "Unlimited Motivation Letters" · Both documents: yes, with a separate entry point for the letter · What feeds the letter: per their features page, "Generate tailored motivation letters based on job postings and your CV" · Where the advert comes from: you paste it, their "Job-First Approach" · Files: PDF; DOCX appears on their pages only as an accepted upload format for the free ATS check · Interface: English, with its own landing pages in German, French and Italian and translation into nine languages.
- Bewerbung.ch — Price on 4 September 2026: free standard account with "Eingeschränkte Nutzung" (limited use), one layout "markiert mit Logo" and three BeKI credits; one month Premium CHF 20, three months CHF 50, no automatic renewal; ten extra credits CHF 5, twenty-five for CHF 10, one credit per AI use · Both documents: yes, CV and Bewerbungsschreiben with their own layouts · What feeds the letter: your own entries; the AI sits on the individual text field — "Klicke beim Erfassen eines Textes auf den BeKI-Button" · Where the advert comes from: nowhere, there is no advert field on the home, pricing or BeKI pages · Files: PDF · Interface: German only; /fr, /it and /en all answered 404 on 4 September, and documents in English, French or Italian start at Premium.
- Zety — Price on 4 September 2026, on the pricing page as served to Switzerland: Basic free with "Download in TXT Format", Pro at a fourteen-day trial for EUR 2.70 then EUR 23.70 every four weeks, Annual EUR 5.95 a month billed EUR 71.40 at once · Both documents: yes · What feeds the letter: your resume and a target job — "Upload your resume or start from scratch, enter your target job" · Where the advert comes from: nowhere; their word for the pairing is "Matching Resume", and it means the template · Files: PDF or DOC on a paid plan, TXT only on the free one · Interface: English.
- Kickresume — Price on 4 September 2026: free with four resume and "4 matching cover letter templates" and unlimited downloads, Monthly EUR 24, Quarterly EUR 18 a month billed EUR 54 every three months, Yearly EUR 8 a month billed EUR 96 · Both documents: yes · What feeds the letter: their own help pages say the job title — "Simply enter your most recent job title, press the Use AI Writer button" — while the resume writer explicitly takes the advert, "enter your job title, the job ad you are replying to" · Where the advert comes from: you paste it, and only into the resume · Files: PDF · Interface: English and others, no Swiss edition.
- lebenslauf.ch — Price on 4 September 2026: free, "Kein Login notwendig" (no login needed) · Both documents: no · What feeds the letter: nothing, the tool does not write one · Where the advert comes from: nowhere · Files: PDF, plus a link that always shows the newest version · Interface: German. The motivation letter appears on that site only as an attachment you upload yourself, and that feature is marked "coming soon".
- What all six share: they end in a PDF, they all let you edit by hand afterwards, and every one of them costs less than an hour with an application service. The difference is not the output format. It is how much you still carry across between the two documents yourself.
- Where the others are ahead: cvswiss.ch translates into nine languages rather than four and sells a single CV for CHF 5, a one-off price we do not offer. Bewerbung.ch never renews automatically and has interview training and a school edition we do not have. Zety has eighteen designed cover letter templates and Kickresume over forty — more drawn designs than our 54 design variations give you. And lebenslauf.ch asks for no account at all.
Who to choose
The other tools here are real and good at what they do — the table says what each is for. The reason we lead is one row in it: the job index is our own, so the advert is already there.
Choose lebenslauf.ch if
lebenslauf.ch — 100 per cent free and with no login at all, if a clean CV is enough and no account should be created.
Choose SwissJobs.app if
Pick the job directly — You choose the posting from our own Swiss index, and the CV, letter and check are written against exactly that text — no searching, no copying.
Four tools, not one — CV, motivation letter, CV check and interview prep from one account, on the same data.
The RAV sheet — Job-search efforts from the tracker, printed on the official SECO form. None of the other tools in this list has it.
Start without an account — Open it and write without signing up; the account is asked for to save and from the second document.
CHF 15 a month, seven free days first — Full access during the trial, cancel monthly, billed in francs — no four-week periods, no exchange-rate risk.

As of 4 September 2026. Every figure for another tool comes from that tool's own site; "n/s" means it was not readable there — not that the feature is missing. Our row comes from the code and from walking the live flow.
The pairing that gets advertised is usually the design
"CV and cover letter from one place" sounds like a claim about content. On the large international sites it is almost always a claim about looks. Zety lists its benefits as "Resume-Based Cover Letter" and "Matching Resume": the letter is built from your resume, and the template matches the template. Kickresume describes its letter builder as "Attach a matching cover letter" and gives the free tier "4 matching cover letter templates". Both statements are true and both are useful. Neither answers the question, because an identical layout says nothing about whether the letter addresses what this one advert asks for.
At Kickresume the gap is visible inside a single product, and it is the most revealing find of this check. For the resume, the site names the advert as an input: "Simply enter your job title, the job ad you are replying to, and let artificial intelligence take care of the rest." For the letter, the same help pages say: "Simply enter your most recent job title, press the Use AI Writer button." A job title, not the posting. One company, two documents, two entirely different inputs — and the half of the application that speaks to the employer directly gets the thinner one.
Bewerbung.ch takes a third route. It is Swiss, it builds a CV and a Bewerbungsschreiben with their own layouts, and its AI is called BeKI. But that AI sits on the individual text field: "BeKI ist an vielen Stellen verfügbar. Klicke beim Erfassen eines Textes auf den BeKI-Button." There is no advert field on the home page, the pricing page or the BeKI page. That is not a flaw, it is a different design: Bewerbung.ch helps you phrase what you type in yourself. If you want the connection to the advert, you make it.
What actually travels from the CV into the letter with us
The letter wizard opens with a picker listing the CVs you already have. Choose one and three things come across from that document: the advert text, the link to the advert, and the employer name. All three land in a field you can still edit before anything is written. The document title is proposed too, from the title of the CV. If you arrive straight from the CV editor, the button carries those details along so they are on screen without a wait.
And because both documents live in the same editor — a motivation letter here is not a second product but a document of a different type — the same tools apply to both: the same line-by-line editing, the same AI instruction, the same two buttons for PDF and Word. The font and the accent colour you chose on the CV are remembered by the browser and applied to the next document. So the visual pairing that Zety and Kickresume sell happens here as a by-product; the content pairing is the point.
Now the part a sales page would leave out. The advert text is not always there. On 4 September we counted how many open adverts hand their full text to the CV form: 83.3 per cent. For the remaining sixth, the employer own advert page could not be read; the form then opens with the job title and the employer filled in and you paste the text. We did not only calculate that — we called it up for twenty-four randomly drawn adverts, of which twenty-two were still live, and all twenty-two behaved exactly as the count predicted.
For the other five tools in the table the same number is zero, and not out of carelessness: none of them holds any adverts. Working "for the same advert" there means copying the text — once for the CV, and with most of them once more for the letter.
Why there is no standard letter for "this kind of job"
The obvious objection is that a good letter for a project management role fits any project management role. In a market this size that holds less often than it sounds. For seven active adverts in ten, the job title is nowhere else in the listings — counted that way on 22 August 2026 and published in our answer comparing a Word template with an online generator. A title nobody else is advertising means one employer, one wording, one profile of requirements. The letter that answers it is as singular as the advert.
That sets the division of labour between the two documents. Between two applications the CV changes in emphasis: which role moves up, which skills come first. The letter changes completely, because it carries the salutation, the employer, the reference to this specific posting and the reason you are writing to them. Which is exactly why it is so awkward when the advert only flows into one of the two: you do the harder half by hand.
There is a second effect people underrate. When both documents come from the same text, they do not contradict each other. A letter that leans on experience buried in the last third of the CV reads oddly, and recruiters notice. Here both documents sit in the same list with the advert stored on the document, so weeks later you can still see which posting a given version was written for.
What it costs to write both documents
The price comparison looks different once you stop at the finished application rather than at the sign-up. Everyone lets you start for free. The point at which money is asked for sits somewhere different each time, and it almost always sits on the way to the file.
At Zety it is the file format. The basic tier says "FREE" on the pricing page and downloads in "TXT Format". A plain text file is not an application; PDF and DOC are on the paid plan, which starts at fourteen days for EUR 2.70 and then runs at EUR 23.70 every four weeks. At cvswiss.ch it is the download itself: "Create and preview your CV for free — only pay when you download." A single CV is CHF 5 and carries "No edits after download"; letters are included in the CHF 15 monthly plan. At Bewerbung.ch it is the layout: the free account has one template "markiert mit Logo" and three BeKI credits, and every AI use spends one — a letter and two CV improvements, and you are done. Kickresume is the outlier: its free tier allows "Unlimited downloads" with four resume and four letter templates, and you pay for the AI and the forty-plus templates.
With us the point sits at saving and at downloading. The editor opens with no account at all — for the CV and for the letter, checked on the live site on 4 September. As soon as something is to be written from the advert, or a file produced, the free account is required: an email address, no card. That gives five CVs a day and ten per rolling week, five letters a day and ten per rolling month, plus five AI instructions a day for each. Only then come the seven-day trial and CHF 15 a month or CHF 95 a year. One exception with no account whatsoever: the five worked example letters on our template page download as Word files without signing in.
Where another tool is the better answer
cvswiss.ch, if you need output in more than four languages or would rather pay once than subscribe. Their one-click translation covers nine languages; we cover four, but with their own pages and their own spelling conventions. And CHF 5 for a single clean CV is an offer we simply do not have. They make the same promise we do — CV and letter from the posting — and they also export the official Swiss job-search-efforts form. We did not walk their flow, because that needs an account; everything above comes from their own pages.
Bewerbung.ch, if you want nothing recurring. CHF 20 for a month or CHF 50 for three, with no automatic renewal, is a clean offer for a short concentrated search, and the interview training and school edition have no equivalent here.
Kickresume or Zety, if you are applying outside Switzerland and want template variety. Eighteen letter templates at Zety, and over forty resume and letter templates at Kickresume, are more drawn designs than our 54 design variations give you — those come from 2 layouts times 3 fonts times 9 accent colours on one Swiss format, so they are variations of a single form rather than forty different forms.
lebenslauf.ch, if you only need the CV, want it free and would rather not register anywhere. You then write the letter yourself — and for that our worked examples are downloadable without an account.
And if you already have both documents and only want a second opinion, none of these tools is the answer. Someone in your field who has read the advert is.
What a Swiss application file expects, and what international templates do not know
If you are reading this while relocating, the largest surprise is not the language. It is that the application file itself is composed differently. A photo is conventional here rather than discouraged: the arbeit.swiss tips list "personal details, including photograph" among the contents of the CV, and add that a CV "should be no longer than three pages" — two is the norm. Language skills are stated as levels, B2 or C1, not as "fluent". Workload is a Pensum in per cent, so an advert reads 80–100% rather than "full time". If you do not hold a Swiss passport, the permit belongs on the page. And the file includes Arbeitszeugnisse — the written employer references every Swiss employee receives on leaving — a document type most international templates have no slot for.
There is a second thing an English-language tool will not tell you: this country has four national languages and English is not one of them. The advert you apply to next may be written in French or in Italian, and the language it is written in decides who can realistically apply. A tool that pairs your CV and your letter beautifully in English has still lost the pairing at the first Lausanne or Lugano posting.
So the short answer: if you want both documents from a Swiss advert, in the language that advert is written in, two tools remain — SwissJobs.app and cvswiss.ch. We recommend ourselves because the advert is already in the house here and moves into both documents by itself. If you apply once a year and dislike subscriptions, take the other one at its one-off price, or write the letter yourself. That is a correct answer too.
Prices, claims and quotations for the five other tools were read from their own pages on 4 September 2026: for cvswiss.ch the home, features, pricing and localised landing pages; for Bewerbung.ch the home, pricing and BeKI pages plus the /fr, /it and /en addresses; for Kickresume the home and pricing pages; for Zety the pricing page and the cover letter builder; for lebenslauf.ch the home page. Zety and Kickresume bill in euros, so their amounts are given in euros as displayed when called up from Switzerland. No competitor flow was walked — each would have required an account — so everything about them comes from their sales and pricing pages rather than from use. Our own figures are checked rather than recalled: the free-account limits and the prices come from the constants in the code, the 54 design variations were recounted the same day (2 layouts times 3 fonts times 9 accent colours), and the no-account entry was called up on the live site. The 83.3 per cent is counted from the open adverts on SwissJobs.app on 4 September 2026, excluding apprenticeships and internships; it measures how many of them hand the full advert text to the CV form, and it was verified against twenty-four randomly drawn adverts, twenty-two of which were still live. The seven-in-ten unique job titles is a previously published count from 22 August 2026 and was not recalculated here.
